You have two main options:<br />

1. Get them to use Outlook Web Access. &nbsp;Simply open up port 443 on your firewall and get a domain name to point at your external IP. &nbsp;They will then be able to log on via <a href="https://somedomain.com/exchange" rel="ugc">https://somedomain.com/exchange</a><br />

2. Set them up a VPN connection to your server and then confgure their Outlook 2000 in the normal way.<br />

Is it possible to run a version of the cached mode so that they can see what has been sent and received without having an active internet connection. ie they can see waht has gone before, if the iternet goes down?

Outlook 2000 didnt use cached mode but it did have an &quot;offline&quot; setting which downloads mail to a local PST file. &nbsp;When you set up the Outlook profile for the user it will ask if the user is a &quot;roaming&quot; user which will set it up for offline use. &nbsp;<br />

As you have posted this in the Small Business Server zone I am assuming you are running SBS 2003 which comes with Outlook 2003 for use by all your users. &nbsp;I would install Outlook 2003 and use cached Exchange mode.<br />

OK, thats fine - will update them to outlook 2003. Can we used cached mode with remote web access? I thought it was just a portal through to exchange. what I am concerned about is that they can see existing stuff if the broadband link goes down.<br />

we have a single windows 2003 server using microsoft exchange and outlook 2003 clients. All is working fine. However, we now have a new home user who would like to send and receive mail at home using outlook 2000. All mail is currently sent to our exchange server.<br />
How do we therefore get mail sent to this user, using our single domain name, and also send mail out using our own domain name from this single remote home location. (Obviously we alread have a broadband connection at this new location).<br />
