Thin client A: and D: redirection
Hello,
I've helped a lot of people but never needed to ask a question before...I do now! Â I have installed a Dell Poweredge 2650 server with Server 2003 standard and (3) HP T5700 terminals into a manufacturing plant and have run into several issues stopping me from completing the project. Â Here goes:
1. Â I need a (local to the thin client) USB floppy and CD-RW to appear when the user starts a remote desktop session. Â There are currently one of each installed on the server as well.
2. Â In the device manager in server 2003, there are three unknown devices. Â I'm sure they are for the DRAC but I cannot find the drivers anywhere.
3. Â The server began flashing an orange light but hangs at boot on "hit F1" to continue. Â After hitting it, it goes into Windows and operates fine. Â I need this to be self-automated.
Any help is welcome and soon if possible. Â I have another post regarding remote administration you may look up too. Â Thanks all!!

1.You can use the mapdrrives in the RDP client. From what i remeber on a hp thin client there is an option to allow mapping of local drives.
2. I think from what i remember there is an iso you can download that will check you system for outdated drives: http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads/format.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=gen&deviceid=9796&libid=36&releaseid=R156221&vercnt=9&formatcnt=0&SystemID=PWE_FOS_XEO_2650&servicetag=&os=WNET&osl=en&catid=-1&impid=-1Â for your model.
3. Go into the openmanage software if you have it installed, if you dont in the bios setup utility and see a. setting in regards to the cover alert is disabled, b. keyboard and mouse halt disabled.

As for part one, the HPs can boot to both the floppy and CDRW but it doesn't show in Windows CE or on remote desktop.
Part two - I'll try that.
Part 3 - I'll try that

Actually, I was wrong. Â The floppy and CDRW both show in Windows CE explorer and they show in Server 2003 via the thin client under "terminalname\floppy" or "terminalname\cd" they just show corrupted data though.
