Solaris 10 not resolving host names

I have a valid DNS server listed in /etc/resolv.conf and nslookup uses it it by default without specifying and perticular server just fine. Initially I thought was because  svcs -a showed  svc:/network/dns/client:default as disabled so then I enabled it and now it shows as such:
online         16:49:56 svc:/network/dns/client:default

But every time I do a ping I get "ping: unknown host www.blablabla.com.
I can ping the IP address just fine, just can't ping by the name nslookup finds
Also the unknown host response comes back fast.

My /etc/nsswitch.conf did not have dns listed after files for the hosts entry. Thanks!
