asked on 

importing hp lj1022n via 2008 server printer migration wizard fails

2003 server with a hplj1002n printer installed (que).  exported the printer to file using the 2008 server printer migration wizard, with no errors. importing the printer from the file using the printer migration wizard produces an error & no printers are intstalled. the error has to do with language not being able to be installed.  I removed the lj1022n printers from the 2003 server. exported the remaining printers via the 2008 wizard to a file. Imported the remaining printers into the 2008 server with out a problem. Has anyone else found this to be a problem?  Does anyone have a solution to the importing using the migration wizard that is different then removing the 1022n?

First thing is the 1022 is not compatible for 2003 server.  It uses a host based printer which will wreck a 2003 print spooler.
I wouldnt add it to the server

thanks for the input.  I have inherited the environment and the lj1020 & lj1022 & lj1022nw have been installed and working for some years now.  I am in the process of attempting to migrate them to server 2008.  Thanks for the feedback, I will do some more research & perhaps contact hp.
