Are there any additional power connectors on the motherboard that you may have missed during install (4 pin or 8 pin)? Are there any additional power connectors required for video cards or anything of that nature? Do you have a powerful enough power supply for all your components?<br />

Check the manual for the BIOS reset procedure (usually involves moving a jumper) and give that try.<br />
<br />
If not... you may have a DOA board that needs to be RMA'd. Contact the manufacturer / supplier for more info.

Ok, so I have a new problem...<br />

When I boot, everything works fine for about, 20 seconds, then the machine freezes and then shuts off.<br />

Sounds like it *could* be a thermal issue... did you mount the CPU and fan or did someone else? Make sure that you have used the proper (small) amount of thermal compund and if it is a thermal patch that you have removed any covering that is on it.<br />

Are you serious? That is not *EVEN CLOSE* to being an adequate power supply for even a semi-modern processor.<br />

This could be causing your issue right here. Do you have another powersupply to test?

I haven't had a 150W power supply since I owned a K6-2 500 MHz (current one is 600W with a Quad Core). I am very suspect of the power supply and would definately test it with a different one to confirm or deny that suspicion.

Intel D845PT Socket 478 Motherboard is fairly old system, and PSUs from Dell, HP, Gateway are just about 150 - 220W back to old days.

I just installed an Intel D845PT Socket 478 Motherboard in a Gateway 500SE PC. &nbsp;When I boot, I am hearing no POSTs. &nbsp;The Hard drive, CD/DVD-ROMs, CPU fan, P/S fan, are all running. &nbsp;I have a green light on the board so I know I am getting power. &nbsp;My problem is that I am not able to do anything with this machine because there is nothing being displayed on the monitor. &nbsp;I am usually pretty good with this stuff but this is my first motherboard replacement. &nbsp;Thanks for your help guys and gals! <br />

Hello Everyone,

I have a green light on the board so I know I am getting power.  My problem is that I am not able to do anything with this machine because there is nothing being displayed on the monitor.
