Crystal Report: Show Line at bottom of detail section

Hi,

Crystal v11 in Visual Studio 2005

How can I show a line at the bottom of my detail section after the last record of the page? Depending on how many records, the line will need to appear at the end on each page to form a box around the detail output.

I have attached a portion of my design view and report preview.

thank you,

hi mlmcc, thanks for the suggestions.

The page footer suggestion doesn't work because it print sat the bottom of the page far away from the bottom of the detail ending.

The additional detail section works partly because it prints at the bottom of the detail perfectly if all the transactions fit to one page. However, when the detail spans multiple pages, the line only appears on the last page at the end of the detail. How can i get the line to appear at the bottom of every page?

thanks
Are you saying the detail A spans?

In that case you could use the page footer and suppress it on the last page or if the details b has just printed.

yes, detail A spans pages.

Even with a page footer, the line on the page footer never meets the bottom of the detail table when detail A spans.
Is it close?

You can get the effect you want by making the vertical line long enough to get to the second detail section or the pae footer.

Hi mlmcc,

Depending on the height of detail, it gets closer and further away. I have not been able to make them meet.

The problem is that the page footer is just that, it sits at the bottom of the page. I do currently supress the footer on the last page which is desired anyway (whew!) :)

I have attached another printscreen. The grey colour is the background colour of the detail section and the yellow is the background of the page footer section.

i have also made the detail section higher so that it uses more room to make it simulate multiple pages, which is why the lines on the sides look odd.

thanks,

hi mlmcc

my manager says it is ok for the line not to appear and for the footer totals to appear at the bottom. so for now, ill accept you earlier help of at least having the line show at the absolute end of the report detail.

thanks for all your help!

Crystal Reports

Crystal Reports is a business intelligence application from SAP SE. It is used to graphically design data connections and report layouts from a wide range of data sources including Excel spreadsheets, Oracle, SQL Server databases and Access databases, BusinessObjects Enterprise business views, and local file-system information. Report designers can place fields from these sources on the report design surface, and can also deploy them in custom formulas (using either BASIC or Crystal's own syntax), which are then placed on the design surface. Crystal Reports also supports subreports, graphing, and a limited amount of GIS functionality.
