asked on 

globalsign personalsign certificate outlook 2003

we have a machine with globalsign personalsign certificate installed. the user has changed to a new machine. how can we transfer the certificate to the new machine?

oh, and slightly harder to remember but faster is to run "certmgr.msc" . the export isn't as clear either, you must first double-click the cert, then on the "details" page use "copy to file".

got it done by go to Tools>Internet Options>Content>Certificates. Select the appropriate certificate and click Export then tick the box next to Export the Private Key, deselect the box next to Enable strong protection and select the box next to Include all certificates in path if possible. Once you have finished the export you can physically move the PFX file to the other machine and from the other machine, double click the icon and follow the import wizard instructions

I assume you mean you managed to locate the solution yourself before you read my post which gave you exactly the same procedure as you posted?

Vee_mod: that's ok, I don't really need the points, and I am assuming he did indeed find the answer himself (as it differs slightly in description to my post, although the actual procedure is the same)
