Have trouble installing Office Communications Server 2007

I am trying to install Office Communications Server 2007.

Step 2  - Deploy Server is failing.

It appears the activation  is failing

I am wondering if ISA is blocking the comms........?  What do I need to check?

ISA Version will be 2000, 2004 or 2006 - didn't have a 2005 version :)

Open the ISA gui, select monitoring - logging - click start query. What do you get in the log when you try and activate?
Does the OCS browser have the ISA Proxy settings entered?
Does normal Internet activity succeed OK from that server?

Hi
Web activity works fine!
The OCS browser.... do not how to configure / use!  The activation is part of the installation!

It seems to be trying to access the web through port 80 and of course isa Uses port 8080.

What can I do?

Thanks

Hi,

Did you try installing OCS 2007 before?
You could try the suggestion from OCSpedia, delete RTC service container in Active Directory: http://www.ocspedia.com/FE/FE_Errors/0x80072014_Err.htm
I may be missing something here, but how does ISA fit into this equation?
From the askers question
<<<I am wondering if ISA is blocking the comms........?  What do I need to check?>>>
Yeah but from that comment how did you gather the infrastructure?  Where is ISA placed?  Where are the Pool Servers? SQL? etc....  Why is the OCS servers going through ISA for validation?  is OCS separated from AD? etc....
Personally I am not bothered. I was asked where to check to see if ISA might be the cause. As ISA is my thing so I have replied. If you want to ask on another tack then fill yer boots :)
Oh I just thought I was missing something... I think for the OCS part of this question I need to understand why ISA is part of OCS activation.  ISA in an OCS infrastructure should be used to publish OCS services to external users...internally to activate the OCS server, ISA should not be involved.

more info from original poster please =)

Thanks!
It is likely involved as ISA is the firewall and the requests need to pass through the firewall to get to the internet.

Ok loads of questions here!  I am running Small Business Server, not a corperate setup with  a DMZ ect!  The sbs server is the central server for everything.  So ISA, SQL SHared Point etc all on the the one server!  I believe OCS installs itself into the AD!  This is an first installation!

What have done is ran an ISA query(keith suggested), and allowed the request that appeared OCS was creating.  This allowed the OCS to activate. Pretty impressive software...when she works!

Thanks for everyones hepl!
Thanks :)
