When clicking the IE icon on desktop I get a popup dialog displaying the executable path

Hi

I have a weird error where a client clicks on their IE shortcut icon from the desktop they immediately get a popup dialog box with an "-e" in the blue title bar and in the body it displays the full path to the executable. If you click on ok it loads IE successfully. The same happens when I open windows explorer but not when I access the My Computer Icon from the dekstop. The OS is XP Professional.

Any help w.r.t would truly be appraciated.

have you deleted the shortcut and recreated it from teh c drive?
GO to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer
is there an application called iexplore.exe?
