Green Light No Power

Hello I am having a problem with my Dell XPS M170.  Here is what happened.
My laptop has been working just fine no issues.   I turned it off before I went to work like always and when I got home to turn it back on the laptop will not power on.  It reads power and charges the battery but when I press the power button I just get a green light that stays on for about 4 seconds then turns off.  I don't hear the hard drive spinning nor do I see any other lights come on.  Can you tell me please what may be causing this.  Thank you.

My warranty expired a long time ago and they will not provide me with the support I need.  Thank you though.

Positive no one touched it.  I have tried pulling everything apart including disconnecting everything from the motherboard.  I also have 2 more laptops same both XPS M170 that work. I tried putting MOBO from other laptops in this one that is having issues still nothing.  I am going to run and get a new AC adapter right now and battery and see if that works.  I will let you know when I try it out.

I have tried the other batteries and I only have 1 ac adapter.  I went ahead and ordered a new mother bord because I have tried everything else and failed.
I installed the motherboard and so far it seems that everything is working fine now.
Thank you all for your support and help.

I would just like to comment that my very elderly-but-still-going Inspiron 3800 suffered from this exact problem (failed to switch back on after being hibernated for several days). I was a bit upset because I'd just spent £45 on a new battery for it. But removing the new battery and switching it on using just the mains power adaptor solved the problem instantly.

Thank you guys, for solving this. I thought the 9-Year-Old Dear was finally gone forever.
