Exit status 196 error

Hello all, a bit of background

Tape drive: DLT - V4
Tapes - DLT tape VS1
Backup software: Netbackup 6.0
OS: Windows Server 2003

So lately I have been noticing that after the jobs run and I check the status in the morning, my logs show"
Exit Status - 196

What could be causing this?

I am new to this firm and there really was no prior IT guy (company used consultants) so its difficult to say if it worked before...I can tell you that I used a cleaning kit and rebooted the server once and had one successful backup since (the very next day)
