Disable BCC so recipents cannot Reply ALL

Not sure what the best way to achieve this but here goes.

I have a mailer which needs to go out to 4000 people outside our organisation. I dont want the recipients to be able to see the other recipients and also, if they hit reply all, I dont want the message to go to all the people who were included on the mailer. Is there a outlook template which could be created or a third party program which can do this for me?

Thanks

there are lots of third party programs

If you want to keep it simple. you could put a dummy address in the to field for instance mailer@somewhere.com and put all the other names in the bcc list. In this way, outlook will not reject the email and will sent it out because there is a to address and all those in the bcc list will just see the dummy address (you could have the dummy your email address as well). Those on the bcc list cannot see others in the bcc list. If your dummy address is non existant, you will just get a bounce saying your email to that address wasnt delivered.. which is expected. everyone else will get the email and their copy of the email will just have to address with the dummy address

Right, just done some tests and that works. When I orginally done the test, I only used internal address and when the users clicked reply all, all internal addresses which were used for the address got the reply email. Im guessing this is not the case when the message goes to external addresses?
when you did the test, did you put the user addresses in bcc or in the cc ? users .. be it internal or external should not be able to do a reply all and be able to send it to everyone in the bcc list.

What version of outlook are you using?
The internal test was done on Outlook 2003 whilst the external test was done on Outlook 2007. Is there a difference with the version of outlook and the way they deal with BCC's?
Also, whats the limit on how many addresses can be added into the BCC (or any address field) in Outlook. Ive just trying adding 4000 but it looks like only 25% would fit into the BCC field ??
