C# VS 2008 win app: Making a picture box background transparent<br />

I have a large picture box of a beach. I am adding some picture boxes of round beachballs to the bigger picture box. I made them gif with transparent background but I still see the grey around the edges of the square picture box. How do I make it transparent? Don't see a property for that. <br />
