asked on

Same net (subnet) on Wan and DMZ possible??

Hello,
I´m wondering if it´s possible to have adresses of same net (subnet) on Wan and DMZ.

Ex. 212.xxx.xxx.77/255.255.255.240 on WAN
And
Ex. 212.xxx.xxx.66/255.255.255.240 on DMZ

Lan = 192........

I´m going to help an customer to morrow morning, that have bought a new firewall (Zyxel Zywall 5), because their old Watchguard died.
They have a webserver and a mailserver with public ip´s that is gonna be connected to DMZ.
Or must I change the ip´s on the servers to another internal ip net? I´m not sure wich consequences that will give.

Hardware Firewalls
Hardware Firewalls

Hardware-based firewalls provide more sophisticated protection for inbound and outbound traffic than the simple Windows software firewall or the basic NAT firewalls found in routers. These devices implement techniques such as stateful packet inspection, deep packet inspection, and content filtering; and may include built-in antivirus and anti-malware protection.
