asked on

how to load IOS onto 2950

i was just handed a 2950 and told to upgrade its IOS to the latest image we have. The image is c2950-i6q4l2-mz.121-22.EA10a.bin. i followed this directions http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps628/products_configuration_example09186a0080169627.shtml and now i have deleted the previously installed image and can not load the new image onto the 2950.  My current prompt includes these options:

switch: ?
? -- Present list of available commands
boot -- Load and boot an executable image
         cat -- Concatenate (type) file(s)
        copy -- Copy a file
      delete -- Delete file(s)
dir -- List files in directories
  flash_init -- Initialize flash filesystem(s)
      format -- Format a filesystem
        fsck -- Check filesystem consistency
help -- Present list of available commands
load_helper -- Load and initialize a helper image
memory -- Present memory heap utilization information
       mkdir -- Create dir(s)
        more -- Concatenate (display) file(s)
      rename -- Rename a file
       reset -- Reset the system
       rmdir -- Delete empty dir(s)
set -- Set or display environment variables
set_param -- Set system parameters in flash
trap -- Cause a software breakpoint to occur
        type -- Concatenate (type) file(s)
unset -- Unset one or more environment variables
version -- Display boot loader version

using where i currently am, how can i load a new image onto this 2950? i have tftpd32 running and just used it earlier today to load images onto tasman devices so i know that the issues is on the 2950. thanks in advance.

Networking hardware includes the physical devices facilitating the use of a computer network. Typically, networking hardware includes gateways, routers, network bridges, modems, wireless access points, networking cables, line drivers, switches, hubs, and repeaters. But it also includes hybrid network devices such as multilayer switches, protocol converters, bridge routers, proxy servers, firewalls, network address translators, multiplexers, network interface controllers, wireless network interface controllers, ISDN terminal adapters and other related hardware.
