Autodiscover service works fine, OAB is not having any problems, so the issue is with the Out of Office Assistant. OOF is available through OWA, but fails to respond with Out of Office when sending a test e-mail from internal and external addresses. Outlook 2007 never displays the Out of Office Assistant, and comes up with the following error: Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later.
My suspicion is with the output from the Test E-mail Auto Configuration test:
Availability Service URL:
http://mailserver.domain.local/ews/exchange.asmx
OOF URL:
http://mailserver.domain.local/ews/exchange.asmx
I wanted to change the above URL's to match our OAB URL which is mail.companyname.com, for testing but do have failed to determine how to change the OOF URL. This may not even remedy the problem, but I have tried everything else.
I have read all the articles from Exchange Genie and others, but have been unable to fix the underlying issue. Thanks for reading my question, and I welcome a solution.
Try accessing http://mailserver.domain.local/ews/exchange.asmx using browser from this Outlook client and it should prompt you for credentials.
Once you are logged in, you should see
http://mailserver.domain.local/ews/Services.wsdl
Are you able to access your mailbox using Outlook Web Access? if yes, try setting up the Out of Office from OWA.
