dbArtisian had to have the Sybase Client software installed to function. &nbsp;What you did was install the v15 version on top of what was already there to support dbArtisian. &nbsp;The message you clipped warns you that the v15 install will break existing Sybase installs.<br />
<br />
Check to see if dbArt still works and connects to the Sybase databases. &nbsp;If not, you will have a mess on your hands. &nbsp;It can be a royal pain in the butt to pull out all of the scrap that Windows stuffs in the registry. &nbsp;You can reinstalling whichever client dbArt used before and see if things light up again. &nbsp;Once you get it working, you can install the v15 client in a DIFFERENT directory and then deal with the environment variable issues you are bound to have.<br />

DBArtisan survived the brunt :) <br />
I took the backup of sybase folder and made a fresh new sybase folder and installed the files in that. But still under OCS-15_0/bin folder, isql exe is still not present.<br />

Is there a way out ?<br />

I always do a CUSTOM install and specifically select everything I want/need or think I might want some day. &nbsp;It may be that ISQL is not part of the default installation for some strange reason. &nbsp;I have not done a v15 Windows install yet (most Linux and Solaris) so i can't tell you for sure. &nbsp;The other thing is that there are usually other client utilities installed as well. &nbsp;These include JISQL, the Java GUI version of ISQL, Sybase Central, and maybe a few others.<br />
<br />
Take a troll around and see what you can find, and if you come up empty, redo the installation with the CUSTOM option so you can both see and pick what you will be getting.<br />

When I tried installing Sybase ASE 1500_SDK_EBF15863_ESD#14 &nbsp;in the machine, even though the setup says the installation is successful, does not look like I am able to install properly, because under bin folder, I don't see any exe (preferable isql.exe etc)<br />

1. The machine contain DBArtisan? Will this impact the installation.<br />
2. I tried to remove &quot;Sybase Adaptive server Enterprise PC client&quot; under Add/Remove program, but this is not getting deleted.<br />
Tried restarting the machine and deleting, it is not helping.<br />
<br />
Can any one tell me best way to install the Sybase client? I have attached the snapshots.<br />

Sybase, a subsidiary of SAP, builds a client/server relational database management system.
