I am setting up a new PC for a lady that has a UPS (Esko) 2442 Thermal Label with a serial connector.
Her new PC only has USB ports for connecting.
I bought a Keyspan USB Serial Adapter which configured as COM4.
When I run the Keyspan diagnostics, the status is "Failed: Bad/unsupported configuration".
I called UPS Technical Support to see if they could recommend an adapter and they will not,
although they say that other customers have done this (obviously).
Can any of you recommend an adapter that will work with this printer?
Also, UPS told me to create a virtual USB printer port. How can I do this without actually
connecting a USB printer? Is that possible.
I am embarassed to admit it, but I wouldn't want to put false information up here.
It turns out that I had incorrectly plugged the adapter into the printer. After correctly
connecting the adapter to the printer's serial cable instead, voila! Working.
It was a learning experience.
Thanks for both of the comments, I think that in some situations, both of them would work.

Make sure you request a refund of your points, as you've solved your own problem. Without physically seeing your connection, it would have taken us quite a while to figure it out!

Problem solved after the adapter was connected properly.
