FC and eSATA are totally different beasts, and I doubt that there is any adapter available at a reasonable price, certainly not for single drives.<br />

If the workstations are already on a LAN, why not simply share the drives?<br />

1) If you can share them, and they see each other on your LAN, then that is the first step.<br />
<br />
If you want to add direct FC connection, instead of or in addition to LAN, it should still work, but may require more configuration.<br />
<br />
I would try to use 1 GBps LAN cards since FC is expensive.<br />

I have tried 1000 BaseT over Cat6 and performance is adequate however not quite there. So I think my last question is if I add a 3rd Edit suite can I have a 2Gbps Token ring LAN over FC between the edit suites?

I feel like I am asking a dumb question however I'll admit I know nothing about fiber channel. Here is the scenario: I have two Apple G5 edit suites running Final Cut Pro. Both have eSATA drives for local (fast) storage. Can I share both drives to both edit suites by directly linking them by Fiber Channel? As it is only workstations I wouldn't require an FC switch would I? Also would the eSATA drives be accessable by other workstations on the network via a CAT5 cable (to a 10/100Mbps switch for small items not requiring the bandwidth).<br />

If I wanted to add a third edit suite in the future could I turn it into a 2Gb token ring by the same direct FC connection to both G5's?
