I have a Lenovo Think Center w/Intel Core 2 VPro. I would like to add a Nvidia Quadro FX1700 Video Card. My current power supply is 280W max. I would like to upgrade the power supply to at least a 550W. I need to know if I can do this, if so what power supply is recommended? If you need additional info, let me know.
Thanks both of you...I should be picking one up today and as soon as everything is running smoothly (not freezing my computer due to a lack of power/overheating), I'll convert this question to solved.
For the record, I'm going to try the PC Power & Cooling: PPCS500 http://microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0290030
Excellent choice ... the unit you selected is very efficient (82%), has Active PFC, and a 5 year warranty.
... as I noted above, I only use PC P&C or Seasonic :-)
Components
Components are those devices that are internal to a computer -- the PC boards, the central processor (CPU), the memory (RAM), disk and video controllers and so on.
