asked on

How can I check which domain is belonging to which forest?

Hi All experts,

The situation like this:

USA office: Windows 2003 server (hostname USAserv-DC) abc.com
Syd office:windows2003 hostname:  Sydserv-BDC:abc.com
                 windows2003 hostname Sydserv2 -DC: abc.com.au

My question, this two domains are  in one forest or tow damins in two forests?
how to check it?

We are going to upgrading exchange 2003 to exchange 2007 by using transition. the exchange 2007 will be installed on new server (abc.com.au) so i need to konw there is only one forest in our company or two. thanks

and, how many dc / bdc can have in one domain or forest?

one dc in each domain? or one dc in each forest?
You need to have atleast two DCs in a domain for redundancy.

You can even run the network with one DC, but two would be ideal and you would be better prepared for a disaster.
