AVG 8 Update "hangs" on "Finishing update process"
Since the release of build 8.0.138 - we have noticed on a large number of servers after about 5-6 days of uptime, AVG when it tries to update - it hangs on "Finishing update Process". At this point we have to reboot the server to get it going again as we have not found any other way around it.
I have contacted Grisoft about this who told me simply to run a AVGdiag file, I have done this twice now - but they have yet to respond or seem interested in helping... Although I will be contacting them again today.
I was wondering if anybody else out there has spotted this issue and has managed to find a work around for it - or a way to unstick it without a reboot??

Grisoft claimed they never received my fault reports... so I sent them over email myself.... no reply yet no surprise there!
However we have come up with a possible theory as the issue does seem restricted to a few "early adopters" of AVG 8...
Prior to build 132 and 138 - there were numerous problems with a memory leak which eventually got fixed. Since then - the machines that downloaded the update to 138 have had update hang issue.... new servers which are going in which have just had build 138 installed with no build updates, dont appear to have this problem.
I have a server at home which has this issue and one of the early adopters. I will be uninstalling both AVG and the exchange add in, reboot and re-install and monitor its progress& (this is another theory we are working on if we remove the old updated to 138 version and install a clean version of 138 it should work&..)

Did you get any joy with this issue?
I'm having an issue, after I remotely installed AVG 8 on to 200 PC's, around 20 of the PCs are hanging when attempting to update remotley via the server. No errors in the eventvwr, no errors on screen. The PCs just have to be completely shut off and restarted.
