upgrading server from distance

my server replaced in another city...
instead of driving there i used remote and gmail for small upgrades...
vut now each upgrade is 30mb so sending it to gmail and opening with the remote
is not an option.

this servers upload is 512 and download 1.5
what is the best way to work with that server?

Hi,
30 MB for a 1.5 is not bad. See by uploading to Gmail and then opening at remote means, you are duplicating the effort. First uploading to Gmail and then Downloading.
  1. How are both offices connected.
  2. I would suggest use FTP that would be fast.
  3. Otherwise while doing RDP to remote, map the local drives, so that remote location can see the drive.
Thanks

ASKER

yhe offices are not connected.
currently for example- if i want to upgrade the db, i send it to my gmail, than
i login with windows remote to the server, open the gmail and downloading the db...

ftp is an option i am afraif to use because the "upload" is 512kbps and
its not realy fast...
what other options do i have?

Gentleman,
I am from a country, where a 256 kbps is used by people at small offices, and trust me they download 700MB Movies from the internet without issues ;-)
30 MB is smaller do not worry. See for all options your Link speed would be an issue right?. Even when you use Gmail ultimatly you are downloading and uploading (duplicating).
otherwise cut a CD and courier it to the otherend, someone will receive and put it in the drive.
:-)
Thanks

I forgot I used 256kbps connection at home without issues to download files upto 100MB myself....
using 512 kbps you can upload/download 30MB in less than 10 mins...!!!
