You can store the profiles in a server for sure. Create a folder called Profiles on the server and share it with full sharing permissions for everyone. And create folders for each users or move the profiles you already have on PCs as per the above article.<br />

def dont use mandatory profiles that would mean everyone had to use everything teh same and you are just looking to lock down teh desktop,<br />

use folder redirection as tiger matt states and you can choose to only redirect the desktop folder to a network location, give users read only access to that folder and there you go jobs a good un.<br />
<br />
As for redirecting to a network store the profile folder then again you can redirect teh app data folder or the whole profile of users to a network store, although this is quite a bit like roaming profiles its slightly different
