Do you have it on the default port (port 80) &nbsp;or an alternative port (port 8530)? Maybe a software firewall or some other sort of port blocking is preventing comms between clients and servers. If it is on the default port (port 80) then you shouldn't have too many problems unless downloading items is prohibited from an antivirus application or firewall settings.<br />

I find many folks that are having problems with clients and set up the GPO settings also haven't set rules for their ISA firewall to allow WSUS.<br />
<br />
I also found that clients need SP2 for XP clients, and SP4 for 2000 clients in order for WSUS to see them. So, they have to be up to a certain point for WSUS to work.<br />

Hi .I dont have ISA..WSUS is running on port 8530 ..a netstat confirms this..I can telnet into that port from my clients..so no firewall issues here as well..all my computers are XP SP2...
