I'm not sure what exactly you are trying. Are you replacing the windows server with opensuse, or are you keeping the windows server? If you are keeping the windows server, you shouldn't need ldap on Suse, without it you should still be able to authenicate with the windows server. You should also be able to join your samba server to the AD domain without having openldap installed.

Dear rindi,

thanks for commenting you always solve my problem. ok now I'm trying to explain you we have 3 server one for students examination system, one for students login (server 2003) and the other one is mail server. All have different database so we need to create three account for a single user its very hard for us. so we are trying to centralized database that store user name and password and all servers should communicate with them.

if any confusion please ask me.

Hoping for positive response.

thanks

Go into Yast and set up the Opensuse system to join your Active directory Domain.  From there, you should be able to log into the Open Suse system using your domain username and password.  Open suse will create the home directory in /home/'domain'/'username' directory.  I use it at work and it works quite well.

Regards,

Randy.
