Install additonal robotic library Backup Exec 12d - Urgent

Hi All,
I need to install a 2nd library today into my Backup Exec 12 d server.  It currently uses a Sony AIT 8 tape library.   I need to install another one on the same server today.

What steps do I need to take?

Currently I have 1 scsi port, which is connected to the original library.  I removed the terminator from the original unit, and plugged the new library into that scsi port (on the old library).  I moved the terminator to the 2nd library now.  They should be daisy chained properly.

What are the next steps to installing this 2nd library (exact same model as old library).

Thanks,

Assuming that the termination is ok then a reboot of the server will cause Windows to find the new device (probably as a drive and as a library depedning on the model)

The start Backup Exec and it should add the extra device for you

You'll then need to change jobs to point to the right device as you wish

Hi Randy,
I've restarted the server, but in BE I only see the drive, not the library itself.
If you look in Windows Device Manager do you have a yellow exclamtion mark next to the library?

When you isntalled BE did you tell it to use only its drivers? Only Windows drivers? or use its own for any that dont have a Windows driver?

Worth doing a live update to pull in all latest device drivers for BE anyway as this will kick start the services again

This server was setup prior to me getting here.  I do not know which drivers it would be using.
There is no yellow ! in DM.  Just shows Unknown Changer (But that is from the original library).

The term "Backup" means the methods and processes involved to copy computer data (system data as well as application data) to media other than the ones where the data originally live (disk, tape, optical, cloud). "Restore" in turn means the methods and processes involved in data recovery, i. e., bringing back copied computer data to their original location. Backup/Restore primarily serves as a means of protection against data loss, be it due to disaster, corruption or sabotage. It can also be used for recovering data from an earlier point in time and even for cloning machines or applications. There is a wide variety of backup/restore software available, from expensive commercial products to free or open source tools.
