Thanks for the answer there is one query which i would like to ask <br />
One guy from oracle DBA &nbsp;is saying if you increase threads you can increase processing <br />
power even if you have 4 CPU thn you can scale up for query to 8 CPU even though you don't have .<br />

the oracle guy did probably word badly. <br />
what you can specify is the number of &quot;processes&quot; which can be used to handle queries, which be much higher than the number of CPU, but again, this basically has &quot;nothing&quot; to do with the number of CPU.<br />
sql server also has a &quot;max worker processes&quot; setting, defaulting to 255 if I am not mistaken.
