What are you using for the VPN - IOS Routers or ASA/PIX?<br />
If using routers, then you can apply QoS if you build the tunnels using actuall tunnel interfaces/GRE and encrypting the GRE traffic...<br />
Then &nbsp;you can pre-classify traffic before it is encrypted in the tunnel<br />

&nbsp; I have a requirement to limit the bandwidth available to a server at a remote location that communicates via an ipsec vpn to HQ, I basically want the server to believe it's on a low bandwidth link.<br />
&nbsp;I've been reading about CAR - &quot;rate-limit&quot; which can be applied to an interface, referenced by an access-list.<br />
The query is, can this work on an ipsec vpn, would the decrypted packet be inspected for rate-limiting or would it not ?<br />
