Yes on the boot menu, the boot order is from top to bottom,make sure your harddrive is on top....you can move up and down by uparrow or downarrow or + or -<br />

It looks the laptop is trying to boot from floopy

i moved the hardrive to the top-although there is IDE and SATA hard drives-which should be first? Might not matter as it kept saying<br />

Oh and btw it has 'not present' in brakcets next to the 2 hard drives and floppy diskette lists on the BIOS. Is the problem do you think?

Ok. I am afraid that the harddrive is not recognised in the bios.<br />
Please press F2 and go to bios, and under drive option see whether harddrive is present, also disable the floopy drive in the bios.... read the instructions on the bios to do it<br />
<br />
Also if possible I would first suggest you to replace with a spare harddrive and make sure the bios sees the harddrive

I dont have a spare harddrive. I went intot eh drive options though and they were set to 'off' so i turned them on, but on reboot us has gpone back to the original message of Drive O not found...

arrgg i cant even acces the system menu now! It seems well buggered. Would you advise I call someone out or would it be a waste of money given it might just need replacing anyway (even though its relatively new, plently of ram, memeory etc, very disappointed with this PC).

i cant even seem to accesss BIOS via F2 now though.. I dont kknow this PC has alsways been dodgy and noisy and crashing alot, despite decent spec. shoddy dell job

Thanks tried this but the hard drive is def buggered, makes nosies like a broken dishwasher have satred from scratch but still saying no boor disk available. Can you reccomend a replacement &nbsp;hard drive and where to get from? the current one is a 'seagate barracuda 7200.9 RoHS?<br />
