How to connect a laptop to a Cisco CSS 11500?
We have a CSS 11500 which has never (to my knowledge) been used and I would like to reset the config and passwords and get it up and running. It powers on, but much more than that I could not say.
How do I connect to it?
How do I change/delet the passwords?
How do I reset the config back to factory?

The problem is that although I connect the console cable to the com port of the laptop nothing is coming up in hyper terminal.

After you reset your password and login to the CLI then you can clear the startup-config using this command
clear startup-config
After the startup config is cleared you will need to reboot the CSS 11500 to reset the switch. It will then load with factory defaults
