iphone won't sync using activesync, but can successfully set up the account

I set up the user account and it says successfully verified. When I try to check mail on the iphone it just says "updated." But not mail is synced and I cannot send mail out either. There are no logs what so ever in the eventvwr.

The only different thing with this company is that we use an archiving service and our MX records point there. I called them but they say it wouldn't have anything to do with them.

I've tried disabling "use SSL" on the iphone but with no luck.

Any ideas?
