Plenty of hard drive space on server but workstations think only 1GB of space on server

I have a Small Business Server 2003 standard edition that has been running well for many years. We have a shared network drive that shows it has 91GB free space on server. But the workstations think it is only 1GB sand saving large files is a problem. The only thing that has changed is a windows update on server recently. Before I roll back has anyone any ideas? As I say there has not been any issues for years. The drives on server are raid 5.
