Need to stop delivery to Exchange account but allow out of office notifications.

I have an employee going on 9 months (yes) of maternity leave.  What I need to do is to stop delivery to the mailbox, yet allow out of office autoreplies to continue to be sent.  I was going to set delivery restrictions to only my email address, for example, but since I need the account to send out of office notifications I wasn't sure if they would be sent, once the restriction was in place.

Anyone know?

Out of office replies goes only if a mail is received. So, if you don't want mails to come in, how will out of office reply be generated and to whom?

Thanks....  Perhaps I sholud rephrase.

I need to stop delivery to a mailbox while an employee is on leave (so it doesn't fill up), but I need to continue to have out of office autoreplies sent.

Is there any way to accomplish this?

The problem is that she will be out for nine months, and the box will eventually fill, which is what we are trying to avoid.

But won't the forwarded emails remain in the inbox or sent items?  Or are they deleted?

No copy wont be stored on the User's mailbox. They will be just forwarded to the other address.
