Console/Web access to a Dell PowerConnect 3324
Hi,

We have a Dell PowerConnect 3324 24 port switch on our network that I would like to gain configuration access to, to check the duplex mode and a few other things.

Either web or console access is fine, is this possible and how would i go about it?

I won't take offense to the experts reference.  You did not say you did not have the ip, how did you expect to connect from the web without it?  Regardless, I am guessing if you do not have the ip, you do not have the logon or password, etc... either.  Check out the below for using the serial cable directly to the device and the password recovery, etc...

Oh sorry mate, I was referring to all users of experts exchange but again sorry, it came out all wrong.

Basically I want to check this because we've had intermittment problems with our connection and our ISP claims the router's log contains mis match errors, so they want me to check that 100mb Full duplex has been enabled on the switch. I think....

I inherited the switch and there's no documentation with it - i'll give that ago and let you know how it works out, cheers.

A router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers perform the "traffic directing" functions on the Internet. The most familiar type of routers are home and small office cable or DSL routers that simply pass data, such as web pages, email, IM, and videos between computers and the Internet. More sophisticated routers, such as enterprise routers, connect large business or ISP networks up to the powerful core routers that forward data at high speed along the optical fiber lines of the Internet backbone. Though routers are typically dedicated hardware devices, use of software-based routers has grown increasingly common.
