Installing VIC2-FXO card in Cisco 1760

Hi, I'm trying to get a VIC2-FXO card to work with a cisco 1760 and im not sure how to set it up on the router. I'm trying to get it to work with a cisco callmanager server. Does anyone know any commands to at least view the status of a voice port or to install a port??  Thanks.

it's been a long while since I played with this so could be wrong, but an old config of mine had one these for each port...

voice-port 1/0
 connection plar 5551234
 station-id number 5551234
 caller-id enable
!

although I'm thinking the port automatically showed up?  as I said, it's been a while.

as for showing the status, it is "show voice port 1/0".
Hold on....
Is this the vic2-2fxo, or vic-2fxo version your have ??? If you have a vic2-2fxo, you would need an appropriate IOS version. If not, the card will not be recognized. I think that is what is happening in your case. Please refer to this page to see which version you need. :
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps274/products_tech_note09186a00800b53c7.shtml
perform this command to see the status :
show voice port summary
Normally it should show up in your config, and you should also see it when you perform a show version

I didi show port summary and it didin't show anything. Even though I have the vic2-fxo installed. But I didn't do anything to set it up on my router because im not sure how. And I do have a vic2-fxo. And I have verison 12.4. Oh and on the card itself both the orange staus lights are on even though they aren't active. What does this mean, i know it works with my router which is a cisco 1760.
Does it have 1 fxo port, or 2?  Can you also do a show version on the router itself ?
It's important to know exactly which type of card it is, so that's why I'm asking. The 'older' vic-2fxo should be supported in any IOS with the voice feature set. The newer card needs a higher IOS.
As I can see you have 12.4, that should be fine, but which feature set do you have? You should have the voice feature set.
Both the older and the newer card are indeed supported on your platform, but you will need a correct IOS to be able to get them to work. The fact that the LEDs are orange indicate that the card itself is powered up, but that it is not recognized by the IOS
how do I set the voice feature?

Can you perform a 'show diag' as well? for the VICs to work, you will need PVDMs. In a show diag this can be seen. Have a look at the below article on CCO :

Here is the show diag from the switch. What do you guys think?

Well, from the show diag outpout, I can see that you don't have DSPs in your router, so it will not recognize the VIC card. :
Packet Voice DSP Module Slot 0:
        Not populated

Packet Voice DSP Module Slot 1:
        Not populated

To get this VIC to work, you will need a PVDM card. This is the product code for this piece :
PVDM-256K-12
I'm going to want to have 4 phone lines on this router so I'm going to need a PVDM-256K-16  correct? But it says its 4 dsp's but i only have 2 slots in my router?? Can someone please explain this to me. Would PVDM-256K-16 workin in my cisco 1760 gatway??

PVDMs by the way are not on the VIC HWICs.  They look like SDRAM memory chips you install onto your Cisco Router's board.  If you do a show version, it will tell you if you have any PVDM's installed.

I know this question is over, but thought you'd like to know as I'm always glad to assist.
