How can I resolve IE Explorer error?

Hello experts,

Recently, my laptop was re-imaged by our IT department.

For the first couple of days, I could go to the internet to check email, do research, etc and I could do these fine.

Suddenly, I started getting the following error message: "Internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Then as soon as I click the "Don't Send" button,  The following error appears, "The instruction at "0x7470b439" referenced memory at "0x7470b439". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate program"

Can someone please help me find a fix because right now, I can't access the internet.

simflex--I meant to add that on that error message screen you should have the option to get More Info or Details.  (Perhaps you have to send the message to MS to get the link.)  See if that provides more info on the reason for the problem.  You could also look into Event Viewer.

First, thanks to all of YOU for the overwhelming and rapid responses. I really appreciate it.

Second, glozen's solution worked perfectly for me. I am actually sending this response from the laptop.

I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player as instructed and reinstalled as instructed and all is well now.
