I setup Exchange Server 2007 on our new Microsoft Server 2008 install. I have a web domain which I currently have hosted with a web hosting company online, and I have changed the MX entry to point towards a DynDNS address, which points to our static IP address here at our business.
I have been able to successfully setup Outlook Web Access and have been able to send and receive emails just fine using Outlook Web Access. I have also setup my exchange account on my iPhone, which I believe uses Active Sync? I have also been able to setup access on a local workstation, on the domain, in Outlook 2007.
The problem I am having is setting up my exchange account in outlook from a computer not within the LAN. It is setup just fine on the workstation at the office, which is a part of the domain, but when I go home to my laptop and try to set it up there, I cannot connect properly. I have tried researching this for the past 3 days, and have tried many different settings, but I just can't seem to figure it out.
Finally, after I get the above problem fixed, Id like to setup POP3 and SMTP access protocols for my users that do not have exchange capability. Also, Im not sure if this is possible, but it would be nice if there was a way that the server could automatically download email from other POP3 accounts that I have with other service providers, such as Comcast or my college& But I kind of doubt this part is possible, at least from the server-side. I assume Ill probably just have to setup these additional accounts in Outlook and tell them to deliver mail to my Exchange folder.
Thanks in advance for your help! Will award maximum points to who ever helps me get this working! Thanks!!!
