Removing old domain controller from Active Directory

What is the best way to clean up/remove an old member DC that crashed and was replaced? It was never demoted, just died. I don't believe it was a GC or owned any of the 5 roles.

Thanks.

Metadata cleanup, it deletes all the old information about the DC out of AD. It will sieze the FSMO roles to the new server if any existed on the dead server as well.

I unfortunately have to do the procedure a lot, we have a huge network with some very old DC's. It's pretty easy luckily.
