We designed our magazine to flow from one page to the next, so many pictures are on 2 [8.5 x 11] pages at a time. We also like viewing/designing 2 page spreads for easier online viewing.

Anyway, this is issue #1 for us, and the printer threw an unexpected requirement - which I thought would be easy - but leaves me scratching my head a little.

The standard letter-sized spreads should be submitted as single pages in an InDesign .INDD file.

I assumed they would ask for a PDF... So I practiced how to export a spread into single paged PDF, but cant seem to do this easily in INDD - primarily because I can not cleanly separate the pictures that spread across 2 pages.

I hope it's easy - and I really hope I did not make some major newbie error, or have to manually slice everything that stretches past 1 page.. :-(

Thanks for your help!
