Gday Experts,

I am trying to install php pear with no luck, I used go-pear.php and all appeared to work.

"The 'pear' command is now at your service at //bin/pear"

but the command is not available,

Not being able to figure this out, I installed the pear module for webmin, and that gave me the same error

"error was detected on your system : The Pear command pear was not found. Maybe Pear is not installed, or the module configuration is incorrect"

So I did a locate for pear, and could not find it.

After a bit of reading, alot of people say it needs to be enabled when php is compiled

this is from phpinfo(); "--without-pear' "

So could anybody tell me whats going on, what I need to do, and how to go about doing, here is what might be some other relevent information.

Operating system Redhat Enterprise Linux 5
Webmin version 1.420
PHP Version 5.1.6

Sincerely,
