Greetings. My Gateway laptop (running xp, Microsoft Office (2003?), Internet Explorer, and Adobe Acrobat Reader) recently started giving me problems when I download a pdf document form the internet. After a Google search, I click on the pdf document link and the document appears in Acrobat. However, after a few seconds, an error report appears and once I close the reort, Explorer closes. Since the problem began, I updated to Acrobat reader 9 and re-downloaded Explorer 7.0 but the problem persists. I've searched for some Google solutions but have not found any. That being said, I am not experienced with computer technical issues so it is possible I am missing something obvious. Any ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks! Here is some info from the error report:

 The "error signature" is

AppName: iexplore.exe       AppVer: 7.0.6000.16674       ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.3119       Offset: 00012a5b

The "file included in error report" is C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\683a_appcompat.txt

And the Exception Information in the error report (long) lists the code as 0xc06d007f.
