Need to create a (DFS) local file tranfer share at each site and File/folder retension period should be set as 1 week.
With DFS i need to create a local file tranfer share at each site (single 2k3 domain, but multiple locations) and File/folder retension period should be 1 week (all files above a week should be removed). Although it is primarily intended for local file transfers, the share should also be visible and accessable (read-write) to other sites.
I have already created DFS folder at each site, but how to setup file retension period ?

Well my concern is to delete files and folders in it over a week. There is no Windows options for it in DFS. so creating a batch file might work ?
Please, let me know how you come out after the weekend.

Where do you want to go from here?
Let me forewarn you, I avoid scripting like the plague!!!! So, I am terrible at scripting.

As that article states, you will have to have the DFS share on both sites. DFS uses netbios to distribute the share out. Since netbios broadcasts are not Routable, each site will need a copy of the share. So, you will have to include this share as a part of your FRS replication set.
So there are two parts to this. Setting up this file to replicate from one site to the other. Then, making sure that DFS is not impeded.
There is another option. That is to have DFS operate off of DNS. (So, give this article a gander)
