I'm just learning .NET using C#.  Our servers only have the 2.0 framework, but I'm using Visual Studio 2008 locally which assumes version 3.5

How to I configure VS 2008 to behave like 2005 and not reference namespaces and libraries in the 3.5 framework?

When you create a new project and the New Project dialog box opens, in the upper right of the dialog box you have a drop down combo box with three options, .Net Framework 2.0, .Net Framework 3.0 and .Net Framework 3.5 Select the Framework of your choice  select the correct application type and  click OK. Thats is it.

Darn.  This must apply to the Standard or higher versions, at the moment I'm using the Express versions and don't see this. Is that correct?

Is the same option available when creating a new website?

Thanks very much!

Visual Studio Express are limited versions of the product. Options that are removed like this are not reimplemented in another way. To be able to build in both .Net Framework 2.0 and 3.5 you will need to install both Visual Studio Express 2005/.Net 2.0 and Visual Studio Express 2008/.Net 3.5 on your machine.

I *must* be missing something then.  I do have both the 2005 and 2008 versions of Web Developer and C# installed as well as all the Frameworks.  Yet I don't see the dropdown you describe.  So sorry to be  a pain...
