Can't mark and copy text in emails
Hi,
Since a few days I can't mark any text in received emails. Neither in the reading pane nor when I open the email. The only thing I get is a hand to move the message body up and down. How can I get back to the previous state whee I could mark text?
I use Outlook 2007 on Win XP Tablet PC Edition.

Hello war1,
thank's a lot for your help. Sorry it took me so long to answer, but I use Outlook every day, so I couldn't try your Solutions earlier. In fact I did everything but reinstallation. Unfortunately it didn't work.
But I realized, that I can mark, copy and drag and drop text in received messages if I open the message and go to messages - other actions - edit message. Previously drag and drop also worked in reading paneI but now it doesn't. Is there maybe a possibility to avoid reinstallation? It's a bit painful with all the add-ins etc.
Thank's again for your help.

Sometimes Detect and Repair fixes this type of problem. But if not, try creating a new Outlook profile.

goransun, glad the problem is fixed.
Run this Outlook 2007 Troubleshooter:
1. Reset the Outlook toolbar template. With Outlook close, do a search for and rename outcmd.dat file. Restart Outlook. Do the same for outlprnt file.
In Windows XP Outcmd.dat is located in C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder. In Windows Vista, file is located in C:\\AppData\Roaming\Micros
2. Register an important Outlook files. If using Windows XP, go to Start > Run and type regsvr32 OLE32.DLL and hit OK.
If using Vista and you get an error, run regsvr32.exe from an elevated command prompt. To get an elevated command prompt, right-click on the "Command Prompt" shortcut and select "Run as Administrator".
3. If no joy, an addin could be corrupt. Disable Outlook Addins. Go to Tools > Trust Center > Add-Ins disable the addins.
If Outlook does not open, go to Start > Run - and type outlook /safe
4. Check if an external program running in the background is interfering with Outlook. Check Firewall, antivirus and other security programs, Yahoo and Google toolbars, and desktop search programs. Disable these programs one at a time.
5. On the Help menu, click Office Diagnostics. > Continue > Start Diagnostics
6. Create a new Outlook profile.
