Refresh Link Table automatically

I have created an Access Database which has link tables that point to a different database. Now using a report tool (Cognos) I want to query the Access Database and get the data into the report. BUT what I am worried of is whether the link tables will always provide latest data. Does the link tables get automatically refreshed when data is pulled from them.

Let me know if additional details are required.

So if the data in the other database has been updated but the MS Access database linktables have not been refreshed, and if the report software uses the MS Access database to pull data then will it get latest data or the data tha is currently present in the linktables?
Linked table are not 'refreshed' per se.  They are direct pointers to the real tables.

The Access database is used as a database by the report tool.

I will try it and will let you know. Thank you very much to All for responding immediately!!
