How do I turn off Gzip Content Encoding using PHP Apache?

parlays asked
Last Modified: 2012-06-27
Hello everybody!

I have been trying to play with the PHP flush() function but it won't work because Gzip content encoding is being used.  I can't find out anywhere how to turn off Gzip.  I have tried many different command in the .htaccess file but cannot get the header to stop sending the page content as Gzip encoding.

I am using PHP 5.2 and Apache 2.2, any help on how to do this is much appreciated!!  Thanks

Hi, yes I have checked the headers using Firebug for Firefox and ieHTTPHeaders for Internet Explorer and the response message says "Content Encoding: gzip" and it also says "Vary: Accept-Encoding".

I can't seem to ever get flush() or ob_end_flush() to work for me.  Whenever I put to flush() contents and then I call sleep(x), it never flushes, the script sleeps and then shows everything??

Are static files gziped, too?
i have the same problem as mentionned by parlays

"Content Encoding: gzip" and   "Vary: Accept-Encoding"

are submited when posting data to server

it causes a flash / amfphp request to crash

mod_deflate is not activated but it produces this header anyway .
