How to archive the mailboxes from a recovered exchange 2003 storage group?
Hi All, and thanks for your insights.
I have successfully recovered an Exchange 2003 backup to another server from which it was originally taken, and confirmed the mailboxes are all present. I have not, however, created those users in AD on that server. Also, the server is on one domain (xxx.local) and all of the email addresses (if it matters) are another domain (yyy.com).
My question is this: How would i go about best archiving these mailboxes to their respective .PST files?
The environment is Windows Server SBE 2003 SP1.

Do i need to create these users prior to running the recovery, or just prior to running exmerge?

ExMerge needs to see mailboxes attached to the user accounts in order to function: Prior to running ExMerge.

Thanks for the above. I have set the permissions as above and now can run ExMerge.exe without error. However, I only get the the Administrator mailbox offered as one to act upon. It may be important to reiterate that I have not created the uses into the system for whom that mailboxes would belong. Would this be an issue? Do I need to create these users before doing this restore in order to line up the mailboxes with the users? Please see my original note for clarification.
