asked on

problem changing display names in active directory

i have changed the display information of a couple of users that preferred to have their middle names taken out of AD, in the user profile i have changed the display name but the names in AD still remain the same, and the same in the address book and i dont know why.

Can I force some sort of update or am I going about changing this info in the wrong manner, I would have thought the information would update the name.

Everything else works, if i change phone numbers etc but not the name and it doesnt in the address book either.

Im using Microsoft Windows 2003 server, exchange 2003, and we have a global domain.

I dont really want to delete the user and re-create it as I was told to do on another site, so is there a way i can do this?

It was that easy, thanks, will that update in the address book then as well automatically?
Yes it will update the Address Book as well. If you need to changes to be updated immediately. Use the Recipient Update Services.
