I've done a lot of searching, and trials of various software packages and we're not really finding anything that knocks our socks off. We're just looking for something that will scan the various machines around the office for their hardware configuration and installed software, and will let us input and manager our software licenses, serial #'s etc. It also needs to be able to tell us what licenses are available or if we have too many copies installed.
This seems like such a simple thing to me, and it seems like something all medium-large organizations need/use. What are the experts out there using? I'd like to know what is working in the real world?
